Rotary Club supports local non-profit partners

May 19, 2022

The Rotary Club of Bradford made several stops this month to support area nonprofits.

A contribution was made to CARE for Children that included a portion of club members’ annual dues which is designated to support the Rotary Special Assistance Fund for children of all abilities. The fund helps with expenses related to medical visits and hospital stays, including gas cards, equipment needs, supplies, emergency food and clothing, and other costs that can be a burden for families with children with special health care needs.

The gift made to Futures Rehabilitation Center, Inc. will be used to help sponsor Future’s Annual Picnic to be held this summer at Mystic Waters. Food, music and a dunk tank will be enjoyed by all staff and individuals.

The YWCA Bradford received a contribution designated to the organization’s building fund.

“The YWCA is grateful for the support we have received from The Rotary Club of Bradford throughout our capital campaign,” said Vanessa Castano, executive director. “At this point, we are awaiting the final approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for our financing, then we will move forward with the construction phase of our new location.”

The Rotary’s gift to Evergreen Elm will be designated to the organization’s activity fund to assist in holding their Annual Picnic. Club members also hope to be on hand for the picnic to help set up a BBQ, entertainment, and activities for Evergreen Elm’s members and families to enjoy.

In addition to support of local non-profits, the Rotary Club of Bradford works to be community stewards through volunteerism, support of the Rotary Foundation and by holding special events like the annual golf tournament whose proceeds are used to sponsor community projects like the Operation Warm Coat Distribution to children, food drives, the Rotary Garden and U.S. Route 219 Clean Up.
